Baking Duck was a product of collaboration by Paolo Morales' family's shared love for baking; it’s a slow and progressive story that began in Paolo’s childhood.
Paolo lived in a home surrounded by the smell of his mother’s pastries, witnessing the love and passion she had for baking. It all started with brownies that they would traditionally give out to friends and relatives every Christmas, hence being the pioneering pastry that built Baking Duck.
But it wasn’t just Paolo and his mother, this story also involved two of his cousins and his brother. The pandemic that reached its peak in early 2020 had a deeper impact on Paolo’s mother as she was close to retiring. As a married couple with four children, Daniel’s art skills and Lea’s innate talents in entrepreneurship have complemented so well that they gave birth to a successful handicraft business in 2000, known today as Daniel’s Handicrafts. Originally, Lea started a wire and metal frames business but was encouraged by a businessman to enter the handicraft business using seagrass and abaca from Bicol as raw materials. Convinced, they started with the production of hampers, baskets, and vases.
